About this walk
The renowned Steavenson Falls in Marysville State Forest, about 2 hours north-east of Melbourne, is one of Victoria’s tallest waterfalls. Enjoy a beautiful short walk with friends and family and be rewarded by the sight of these impressive 84 m cascading falls.
Head along a well-graded all-abilities track to enjoy views from the base of the falls. For the more energetic, you can also climb the stone steps up to the Steavenson Falls walking track as it winds up the side of the hill to the top viewing platform. From here you can look down onto the falls and take in an impressive view of the Steavenson River Valley, covered in ferns and trees.
For a unique experience, explore the walk during the evening when gravelled path and falls are floodlit between dusk and midnight.
Accessibility information
The carpark is asphalt and there is 1 disabled parking bay.
The accessible toilets are accessed straight off the carpark on wide flat sealed path.
The main walking track to the base of the falls is wide with a gentle slope. The compacted gravel surface is suitable for wheelchairs and prams.
The main lookout at the base of the falls is fully accessible and provides an excellent close-up view of the waterfall.
There is no disabled access to the top of the falls as the track is steep and narrow with an uneven surface. There is no disabled access to the path on the opposite side of the river due to needing to go up and down stairs.
