Explore Victoria's natural beauty

Victoria has more than 8 million hectares of public land for local communities and visitors to explore.

State forests make up more than 3.1 million hectares of this land, providing many exciting recreational opportunities as well as supporting diverse conservation. This is an addition to over 4 million hectares of land and marine parks and reserves managed by Parks Victoria.

Our state forests are open to visitors for camping, horse riding, four-wheel driving, trail bike riding, mountain biking, prospecting and recreational hunting.

With hundreds of free recreational sites and great visitor facilities, it's time to plan your next outdoor adventure.

Check for road closures before you go

Between June and November, many of the roads and tracks in Victoria's state forests and parks are closed. This is to help protect sensitive environments and public access tracks when they're more vulnerable to damage, as well as the safety of visitors.

Find out which roads and tracks are closed before you go.
