On busy public holiday weekends, parking at Richards can be at capacity. Where this is the case, consider parking your car either at Ditchfields campground or at the small carpark on the Main Mt Cole Road opposite Camp Link Road, and starting the walk from there.

Facilities available

The tank water at the campground is not reliable for drinking. Bring your own and make sure to take plenty with you on the walk.

Beeripmo Campground

Accessed via Beeripmo Walk this is a pedestrian-only campground providing a relaxing overnight stop on your 2-day walk.

You'll find 10 camp pads with fire pits for cooking and relaxing around. The campground has toilets and an untreated rainwater tank.

Camping is on a first come first serve basis. No bookings are required, but early arrival is advisable during busy times.

Beeripmo Walk

This scenic 2-day walk takes you through Mt Cole State Forest and Mt Buangor State Park. Stay overnight at Beeripmo Campground, which marks the halfway point. Make sure to carry water on this walk as the tank water on site is not reliable for drinking.

Mt Cole State Forest is 25km from the township of Beaufort and is the gateway to the Pyrenees Wine District and the Grampians.

Walk through cool fern gullies and alpine plateaus then rest to take in stunning views across the spreading plains to Langi Ghiran and the Grampians.

Day 1 of the walk is around 7.2km and day 2 is 13km. It's accessible year-round.
