About this site
Come for a picnic or camp overnight at this secluded campground nestled among towering box-ironbark trees. There’s plenty to appeal to nature lovers and history buffs alike. Kimbolton State Forest was a key mining and timber resource for early Victorian settlers. Wander through the bush to see what gold mining evidence you can spot.
Kimbolton Forest has a stunning array of native flora and fauna. The large old trees attract many birds, like the swift parrot, regent honeyeater, grey-crowned babler and brush-tailed phascogale.
It’s a well set-up recreation area with good facilities and a gravelled parking area. The picnic area has been specifically designed for relaxing day trips and picnics by the shores of Lake Eppalock, with an undercover area, two BBQs and several picnic benches.
The lake is also a popular spot for water sports like fishing, kayaking, swimming and walking so you'll never be short on things to do!
