About this hut
Pinnibar-Gibsons Hut is 1.5 hours drive south of Corryong.
Horse riders, 4WDrivers and visitors can enjoy new facilities at the hut, which was rebuilt after bushfires in 2019-2020.
In the hut is a wood heater to keep you warm during cold nights. Outside there is a picnic table, fire pits, toilet and communal horse yards. There is a stream where you can collect water just a short walk away. Please boil the water before drinking.
The original hut was built and constructed at the Myhree Timber Mill at Corryong by Jack (John Jnr) and Joe (Joseph) Gibson during the mid-1950’s.
Once completed, the hut was transported on the back of a truck and moved into place using a bulldozer. The Gibson family built numerous huts in the area at Thowgla, Wheelers Creek, Pinnibar and Surveyors Creek.
