Good to know
If you’re looking for secluded bush camping by the water, then Rocklands Reservoir - west of Grampians (Gariwerd) National Park - is a great choice. Built in the 1950s, it’s the second largest reservoir in Victoria.
With 6 spacious camping areas around the reservoir, it’s a great base for fishing, boating, canoeing or swimming.
Don’t forget to bring your camera or binoculars as it's an ideal spot for wildlife and bird watching.
Rocklands Reservoir campgrounds
There are 6 designated camping areas and many are suitable for camper trailers or small caravans. There are spacious open areas suitable for large groups, or smaller more secluded sites surrounded by trees.
Glendinning
Fergusons Campsite
Henry’s Campsite
Brodies Campground
Turkey Neck
Mountain Dam
You can launch your boat from boat ramps at Glendinning, Brodies Campground and Mountain Dam.
All campgrounds except Turkey Neck have toilets.
Some camping areas have fireplaces and picnic tables and some have wood-fired BBQs, however you will need to bring your own wood and check fire bans before use.
Camping is free and sites are available on a first come first served basis. In peak periods camping sites may be unavailable, so have contingency plans in place for these busy times.
You can find out more about these sites and their facilities on the More to Explore app.
