About this campground

This scenic campground in the Yarra Valley is just over 1.5 hours east of Melbourne and offers a beautiful and secluded camping experience. Come here for your next nature escape and soak in the serenity of the surrounding mountain ash forest.

Base yourself here and enjoy access to several nearby natural attractions, including the Ada Tree and Seven Acre Rock. This is a popular area for bushwalking and hiking.

The campground accommodates vehicle-based camping with a couple of tent-only campsites. Each campsite has its own fire pit and a vegetation barrier that separates the sites and provides privacy between camping groups.

Day visitor area and river boardwalk

When entering the campsite, on the righthand side there is a beautiful, sheltered day visitor area. Featuring a picnic shelter, picnic benches and wood-fire BBQ adjacent to a large grassy space, this is an ideal spot to bring the kids for a relaxing outing in the quiet Yarra State Forest.

At the top of the day visitor area, a path offers a gentle stroll down to the banks of the Latrobe River. At the end of the path, visitors can enjoy a recently installed boardwalk that follows the banks of the river. An ideal spot for taking photos, the boardwalk meanders through the fern gully next to the river and will help you enjoy the peaceful sights and sounds of the river and forest.
