About this site

Ditchfield is a beautiful place to travel to for lunch in the forest, with a large open grassy clearing offering plenty of space for larger groups to set up. Smaller peaceful sites are available in the surrounding forest if you're after something more secluded.

The site is accessible by 2WD vehicles and there are basic facilities including toilets, picnic tables and wood-fired BBQ pits.

The campground is surrounded by plenty of things to see and do. You can enjoy the Beeripmo Walk, which passes close by, to do a return day walk out to Richards via Raglan Falls. A short drive will also get you to Victoria Mill Scenic Reserve and Ben Nevis for a nice day out.

Ditchfield Hut

The historic Ditchfield Hut burned down in the February 2024 Bayindeen-Rocky Road fire and is no longer available for public use.

Accessibility information

This campground is suitable for visitors in a wheelchair or with limited mobility. Facilities include accessible car parking, toilet and wheelchair friendly picnic tables.

The carpark is gravel. It is connected to the accessible toilet and picnic tables by wide concrete paths.

There are no formed paths to the campsites so you need to be able to navigate the natural surfaces, which can be soft or bumpy depending on the location or weather. Being able to select which campsite you set up in gives you the ability to choose one that may be easier to access depending on your needs.

Weather conditions can impact the ground surfaces, including the carpark, and may cause accessibility levels to change suddenly.
